Introduction to Paili.

Today I will introduce you to Paili(not her real name). Paili is thirteen(ALMOST FOURTEEN!). She is a sanguine and likes to make all of us laugh. But... she reminds me of Calvin from Calvin and Hobbes. Keep that in mind when you read the following story.
I walked into the dining room yesterday and this scene unfolded;

*Paili is hanging a reindeer toy from the ceiling with a bungee cord*
Me: What the crap are you doing?
Paili: I'm decorating the house.
Me: Ummm... You know it's after Christmas, right?
Paili: So?
Me: And ya'll call me morbid? Look at what you're doing!
Paili: You are morbid.
Me: YOU'RE HANGING A REINDEER FROM THE CEILING! HANGING IT! GET IT!?
Paili: It sounds worse when you say it out loud.
Me: You hung a reindeer from the ceiling!
Paili: Well... That's what Santa gets for running over grandma!
Me: *facepalm*
Paili: Wanna help?
Me: No thanks...

And to tell the truth... this is a normal day at my house. Keep and eye out for the "Paili is a hoot" tag to get a good laugh.

Happy New Year!

I started to call this post Tidbits because it's so scattered.

Sorry for not posting often. The later months of the year are always very busy. And being a starter doesn't help. I truly intend to post... it just doesn't happen...

And I was just getting used to writing 2011 on everything. Now I have to start with 2012...

So the next few months are my last as a teen. I'll be turning twenty in March, but for some reason, I can't give up my cartoons... Or my teddy bears.

I wrote a book. I'm still ironing things out. It's a rough first draft but I finished a book!

So, for Christmas, my parents normally add to my immense library. Last year I even received a signed first review copy of Here There be Dragons! But this year I was given $200 dollars along with a few presents. I'll probably get a few books, but I imagine I'll spend a large portion of it on my 1978 Ford pick-up.

My New Years resolutions:
Fix my Truck and get it running.
Spend at least four hours a week working on my music.
Learn at least one music piece besides my Suzuki pieces.
Post at least twice a week.

What are your resolutions?

Red handed... :)

Ok, I have to admit... I love vampire stories. Not Twilight, have you. I'm talking REAL vampires. Dracula vampires. I have an affinity for classic horror. Boris Karloff, Bela Lugosi... Val Kilmer in The Murders in the Rue Morgue. I even love horror books... Bram Stoker was a genius! And of course, my favorite... Edgar Allen Poe.

Many pieces of art remind me of Poe's work. This one for instance. It seems to be one thing, but with further inspection, it becomes something different. Absolutely magnifique! Another. And one more, because it's too cute not to share...

Personality tests. :)

My mom got a personality type book to teach a careers class at a homeschool co-op. But being the personality type she is, she had to test everyone in our family. We have a mixture of every personality type in our house.

D=Dominance: Direct and to the point, decisive and bottom line oriented. These people tend to be independent and results driven. They are strong-willed people who enjoy challenges, taking action, and immediate results.

Which is the same as "Choleric":
A person who is choleric is a do-er. They have a lot of ambition, energy, and passion, and try to instill it in others. They can dominate people of other temperaments, especially phlegmatic types. Many great charismatic military and political figures were choleric. They like to be leaders and in charge of everything. They can be very manipulative.

My dad and one of my sisters is a D.

I=Influence: Optimistic and outgoing. Often highly social and out going. They prefer participating on teams, sharing thoughts, and entertaining and energizing others.

I's are the same as "Sanguine":
The Sanguine temperament personality is fairly extroverted. People of a sanguine temperament tend to enjoy social gatherings, making new friends and tend to be boisterous. They are usually quite creative and often daydream. However, some alone time is crucial for those of this temperament. Sanguine can also mean very sensitive, compassionate and thoughtful. Sanguine personalities generally struggle with following tasks all the way through, are chronically late, and tend to be forgetful and sometimes a little sarcastic. Often, when pursuing a new hobby, interest is lost quickly when it ceases to be engaging or fun. They are very much people persons. They are talkative and not shy. People of sanguine temperament can often be emotional.

We have two I's in our house. They just about drive the rest of us insane...

S=Steadiness: Empathetic & Cooperative. Typically team players and are supportive and helpful to others. They prefer being behind the scene, working in consistent and predictable ways. They are often good listeners and avoid change and conflict.

S's are the same as "Phlegmatic":
Phlegmatics tend to be self-content and kind. They can be very accepting and affectionate. They may be very receptive and shy and often prefer stability to uncertainty and change. They are very consistent, relaxed, calm, rational, curious, and observant, making them good administrators. They can also be very passive-aggressive.

We have a few S's. In our house, they make things flow smoothly. We love our S's.

C=Conscientiousness: Concerned, Cautious & Correct. These individuals are often focused on details and quality. They plan ahead, constantly check for accuracy, and what to know "how" and "why".

C's are the same as "Melancholic":
A person who is a thoughtful ponderer has a melancholic disposition. Often very considerate and get rather worried when they could not be on time for events, melancholics can be highly creative in activities such as poetry and art - and can become preoccupied with the tragedy and cruelty in the world. A melancholic is also often a perfectionist. They are often self-reliant and independent; one negative part of being a melancholic is sometimes they can get so involved in what they are doing they forget to think of others.

As far as we can tell at the moment. I'm the only "C" in the house. Which can make some pretty tense moments. No one seems to understand why it matters to me that there is a "t" on the end of "kept". Or why I would care to know that there is a certain kind of snake that can digest it's own heart to stay alive.

Mwaahahahahaha. :)

So I decided I should start a blog... mostly because there is no way on earth my FB friends like having their home feed spammed by my geek attacks. :) The point of this is to give me an outlet. :)

A little about me:
I'm a half time novelist... meaning I start a novel(total cool story lines, might I add)... and only write half of it before moving on to another story... :P
I'm a melancholy personality. Sometimes, I make Eeyore look like Tigger...
I love my animals; a rescued Quaker Parrot named Harley... he was abused and only likes me...and even that is subject to change from time to time. :P A rescued American Bulldog named Dodge... 80lbs of "OH! I WANNA GO THIS WAY!"(Think Chance from Homeward Bound ). And last but not least, a Bearded Dragon named Cleopatra.
I am the oldest of 10 children.
I still live at home with my parents(give me a break, I'm only 19).
I wish so bad that I could be a Cultural Anthropologist... but I don't have the money...
I've read more than 1,400 books in my lifetime.
I spend HOURS reading Epbot, Girl Genius and Cake Wrecks.
I'm into Steampunk.
I play Viola and Violin.
Due to "weird bones"(no joke, the exact words the Dr. used), I hear differently than most people; As a result, music is a passion of mine. Not only do I hear music, I feel it in my head.
I would love to go to a Comic convention, but sadly, it has never happened.
Pirates are a passion of mine. :) (Henry Every= BEST PIRATE EVER!!!)

And I think that should be enough... So... yeah, this is me. :)
